Project finalised

After many weeks of entering the world of HTML and learning new skills such as codes and style sheets in Dreamweaver ,I have actually managed to create a fully working website. This project was quite exciting as it requested me to learn and develop new skills. I am quite pleased with the finished product and the functionality of it but due to copyright reasons I will not be uploading the website. But it may be a possibility for the future if I manage to take some photos myself. I really enjoyed the process of creating the “Tewkesbury in 5 minutes website” and discovering the endless world of HTML and the amazing things that can be achieved.

Pro’s and Con’s of being creative

As the course I am currently studying at university is Creative Media, I am challenged to have creative ideas daily. But it has proven to be more complicated and complex than I thought. As I have found some challenging elements of that when doing my recent projects in Web Design and Radio Production. Any individual can come up with a creative idea but it does not necessarily mean that it is a good idea or even functional. During the creative process of my projects many times I thought I’ve had an epiphany but in the end I had to acknowledge that the idea did not work for my projects. The most difficult part of being creative is being critical of you’re own work and acknowledging that something isn’t functional,  it won’t serve for the desired purpose and it will not appeal to its target audience. I believe this is what drove some classic artists mad, the fact that sometimes in order to create something truly great you need to shut  down and kill other good ideas which can be quite difficult for some. But after going through a vicious circle of coming up with ideas, checking if they work, get someone else’s opinion (public’s opinion) and then evolving the ideas or shutting it down. After many processes and many sleepless night, it is always rewarding when the final product is finished and fully functional.

Feel free to message me or post any comments about the challenges of being creative.

Celebration time

The people in the community have raised funds in order to celebrate one year after the horrendous floods. The event was called Over The Rainbow which involved live music and a fireworks display.

A community based town.

Tewkesbury is a very small town in Gloucestershire with a lot of history and heritage. In 2007 Tewkesbury has become very well known because of the floods which covered most of the town. This  got the community together and people helped each other get through the difficult time.

New Project

As part of my Creative Media course I have to develop a working website about a certain topic. Therefore I will use this blog in order to sketch a possible future website. I would like to have a working slideshow on the actual website, so I will try it out here on the blog. However in order to do so the theme automatically creates a slideshow from the pictures from each posts. Therefore I will have a few short posts about the town I live in, Tewkesbury. As I will be basing my website on Tewkesbury any trial articles and formats

Something to think about…

For some this might be challenging, for some exciting and for others mind blowing!

Don’t feel shy to leave comments about what you think!

Enjoy!
